Urban Food Fest have a permanent home in Shoreditch but have several pop up locations around London including this one in Hammersmith. It's in a fantastic location at Addison Primary School. We caught the tube to Hammersmith and walked for 15 minutes to reach the venue. It's on every Saturday from 9.30 to 3.
Often these street food markets are tough on the bank balance but this was a refreshing change. Entry is free and visitors are offered a free drink. I was impressed to find the food and drink was reasonably priced too.
I really enjoyed the chilled out vibe. There was a lovely friendly family feel and the kids enjoyed a free toy, playing on the park and giant Jenga. Some chilled out music was supplied by Issa , a London based artist.
The food selection was fantastic. The stalls change from week to week but on our visit there were 6 stands offering hot food including
Harlem2Manila Filipino inspired Bao buns & Rice boxes.
Base Face Pizza Neo·Politan·Pizza.
Cluck Farm Yard Buttermilk Fried Chicken Tender boxes
Twist & Grill Mediterranean Street Food
We sampled some incredible Bao Buns from Harlem2Manila An amazing pepperoni pizza from Base Face Pizza. The Buffalo Soldier Buttermilk Chicken Tenders from Cluck Farm Yard were so crisp and juicy and very moreish. A Classic Grilled Chicken Wrap from Twist & Grill had a mustard and dill sauce which was so delicious To finish off we tried a Chocolate Orange Brownie and an Oreo Brownie from Billy's & Betty's which were so so indulgently yummy.
Definitely worth a mention were the fantastic alcohol free beers from Big Drop Brewery some of the best we have tried. There was another lovely one from Binary Botanical which we loved too.
I was fortunate enough to be gifted some amazing peanut butter from Proper Nutty, baking honey from Billingtons, a delicious Lily the Pink cider from Cletic Marshes, a lovely mixer from Longtail Mixers, lime lemonade from Gunna Drinks which my daughter loved and a mango pineapple sparkling drink from Vit Hit drinks and an IPA from Black Storm Brewery.
I always love returning home with something delicious and today was no exception. In addition to my goodie bag above I bought some handmade pasta with a wild boar sauce and some incredibly good biltong.
